This was a trip with 6 other people from WTMC.  I was picking a medium trip for a change to just have a nice chilled out weekend.  It turned out that we probably went even easier than a medium trip, so it was very mellow.  But the weather was perfect.  Calm and clear every day.  That’s just not something I’m used to.  With such great weather and some of these locations, it was hard not to just have a gentle easy time.  It was all horribly pleasant and enjoyable…

There’s some 3D video on YouTube.  You can watch in 3D with a suitable TV or glasses, etc.  Or you can switch off 3D and just watch it the old fashioned boring way.  It’s best to view in full screen and switch up the resolution to 720p for nice viewing using the controls on the bottom of the YouTube player.

I also uploaded a high def 2D version to Vimeo to see how well it works (you need to go full-screen to see the HD version).  It’s a bit limited in size but the quality is nice compared to YouTube.  YouTube is better for low bandwidth viewing though.

It was a bit of a half-arsed video, which probably goes well with my half-arsed camera work.  The map stuff looks pretty super cool in 3D though. It took my computer quite some time to render it all, but it was worth it I think.  There’s some other parts of the video that look really great in 3D too.

The commentary is a bit tedious.  I didn’t want to exceed 15 minutes and since it was a four day trip, that meant really just packing in the basics.  So it documents the mechanics of the trip and the route we took but not much more and completely misses the spirit of the trip.  Oh well…
