This was a callout for a man lost in the hills surrounding Waikanae.  He went for a walk and didn’t return.

I went to the callout and spent Monday doing the search.  No luck that day.  The search continued for two more days.

Fortunately, he was found alive and was evacuated.  Good result…

Of course, during this search the Christchurch earthquake also happened.  So this operation didn’t rate very highly on the newsworthy stakes.  But I’m sure his wife thought it was pretty big news.  And he probably wasn’t too unhappy about being found either.
