Nepal Day 8: Bupsa
This was a short recovery day. No extension trips again. It rained all day for the first time.
My Favourite Thing Today
The mule trains were quite interesting and posed a small problem to begin with, but with a little assertiveness it was quite easy to move around them without too much delay and then they became a bit of fun.
Power and Internet
Still no Internet.
The power here seems to be solar or something. The lights ran on mains voltage but probably from a solar inverter system. Often the lights would dim or go out, particularly with the energy saver mini fluoro lights. For some reason, I couldn’t charge anything off them.
There were pay-to-charge stations at the tea house.

The morning started very early at 4:20am and we headed up Pike Peak 1 and 2. These peaks provided the first glimpse of Everest and Makalu that can be seen from the low areas of the trek. We arrived shortly after sunrise and the cloud cleared just in time for a good Everest photo op.
